The Short Story: A Scam account that was created back in February that also created a fake Facebook group of Gilbert Days Rodeo. They are positioning themselves to take funds from people paying for various fees/ entries (including vendor fees).
They also have been stealing and using my photos and even photos of minors. I’ll post all the interactions at the bottom of the page.
Click the 3 dots and select “Report profile”
Select “Pretending to be something”
Next select “A business”
Type in gilberdaysrodeo

Select the Nonprofit Organization with the same logo you see below.
On this screen select “Report Profile” – This is the option for Facebook to review it.

You should see a check mark next to the “Submitted to Facebook for Review”
Make sure to unfriend the profile and leave the fake group.
If you wish to see my interactions with the fake account and the real account continue reading below.
By the time I reached out to the Real Gilbert Rodeo Days I had already had several red flag interactions with the fake account and group. I work in I.T. and we regularly undergo social engineering training. If you are not sure what that is, it’s basically a form of hacking “humans”. All the signs were there, the newly created accounts, stealing photos etc..
Then the lying after being confronted. The terrible English skills. Here are those screenshots…
Stolen photos of a minor that they posted in the group.
I confronted the Fake account to see if they were associated. They lied.
They were caught I a nicely asked them to stop using any of my work. it took them 2 days to change their profile and cover photo that they stole from me.
